After seven intense days at the CeBIT I had to drive back to Berlin this morning.
Having some distance now to the event I am recalling some highlights of the past week
as they appear in my mind.
Having worked for Samsung you might think I am a little bit biased, but truly this is what I think. The efforts of this company in keeping up with other competitors not only resulted in great and stylish products and beautifully designed show rooms, but the stunning advertising campaigns outside of the CeBIT fairgrounds were also striking and impressive.
I really have to give the hostess girls a big credit. Not only that they were always friendly and doing their best to please our needs concerning coffee or cocktails… It was the way they did it. They always looked beautiful in their fairy white dresses and they always had a smile for us. They did not just walk, they were floating…
A "blogger's beauty contest" elected the best girls for the roof top area, the mezzanine area and the ground floor.
A huge event like CeBIT needs a lot of detailed planning and preparation to serve the needs of the visitors. From bank services to interpreters, from lost & found to postal services, cash dispensers, first aid stations, car rental, newspapers, rail reservation…
As I was running out of clean shirts, I went to the laundry services. 24 hours later I got my stuff back clean and pristine and the price was appropriate.
The weather was a big mess most of the time. We basically experienced any weather condition except sunshine, from snow, slush and hailstones to cold and gusty winds. Thanks god we spend most of the time inside, but sorry dear foreigners, the beginning of spring in Germany usually is not that dreadful.
I have not seen much of Hannover, there was simply no time for that. But I got lost with my car more than once. Usually my orientation is not bad, but the infrastructure of this city made no sense to me. On the other hand the city's authorities made great efforts in making the way to the exhibition center as comfortable and timesaving as possible. To avoid traffic jams around the CeBIT fair they even opened both sides of the highways, which was a bit of a scary experience.
This is me and my blogger colleagues at our working space. It was close to the Samsung booth, and we constantly wandered to and fro, to check out the products, make interviews, photos and videos to write about it.
But as you can see, we also squeezed some fun out of our work.

I had the pleasure to make a little photo session with the Blue-Men guys. Although I have spent so much time with them, I would probably not recognize them without their striking make-up.
