CeBIT is the world's largest trade fair featuring digital IT and telecommunications solutions for both home and work environments. It also serves as an international forum for comparing ideas on industry trends, networking, and products. CeBIT has served as an important showcase for the passion of technology. Deutsche Messe AG has organized this event in Hannover each spring since 1986.

CeBIT is the German acronym for "Center for Office and Information Technology", and since the last syllable is BIT, the smallest unit of information handled by a computer, it echoed the growing importance of electronic data processing in the Seventies, and even more so in the Eighties, when PC manufacturers flocked to the HANNOVER FAIR.
